Building brain-lore

This is a funny name for my attempt at answering: Why do I write?

I want a running, accessible archive of ideas that I play around with and arguments I have with myself and the world, so I can have the possibility of being known. If I put my brain out there publicly I have the chance of meeting people who see how I think and aren’t afraid or weirded out by it, but find it welcoming and endearing.

I have come to a point where I realize meaningful relationships are very difficult to find and cultivate, though not impossible. I believe by writing online, I can cast a net to the whole world as well as have reference material for people whom I meet IRL to stalk me if they’re interested enough to get caught up with who I am.

This is also why I want to write “The friend letter” as another form of the blog and newsletter that is written explicitly in the tone of keeping up with my friends. A space where I’m free to be myself and I’m not worried about marketing any particular aspect of me, just trying to be authentic.

This is one of the aspects of writing that most excites me.
