Moving on from Existentialism
This was the first idea I see in The scale of philosophy.
Existentialism is awesome because it frames existence as a human. Values, growing up, actualizing ourselves and values within a society, the whole 9. We ask all the questions, hopefully get our answers and then.. well, that’s it.
“What better way to live life than to find out the game you want to play more than anything else and go give it all you got.” -Peterson (obviously)
The philosophy itself loses it’s ability to guide you once you’ve decided your parameters. Just like Beyond freedom is making a choice, Existentialism helps us to see ultimate freedom, and in order to fulfill ourselves we must choose something to throw out the rest. (We gain by doing so). We have to step away and bring our awareness out of this constellation so we can bring it into our life. Put your philosophy down and start living your life, not designing it.
What happens if we don’t move on? See Insomniac philosophers.
