The cost of yes
By definition of focus we are saying ‘No’ to anything outside of that focus.
Many times we can be sold on saying yes to something that has a much higher cost than we think.
Yes to a dinner could mean 3 hours of time spent with lame people..
Saying yes to building something is a huge commitment, things break, the needs shift, and you have to consistently say yes to this thing.
Your inbox is a to do list to which anyone else can add an action item.
We treat our calendars as if anyone else has full access over. When all we seek is invites and feel obliged to them we are saying no to any other way we would spend that time.
