The foundation of self-esteem
Self esteem is something we’ve all become aware of being able to build or tear down, and a general sense of where our levels are at so long as we don’t conflate it with ego.
What most of us have yet to realize is how strongly tied to our identity it is.
Self-esteem sets its foundations upon identity.
I could be quite proud of my life, but if the same ways I spend my time or what I was complimented for was given to say, an aspiring ice skater, they would hate themselves for being lazy.
Those who put up walls to defend their ego, also cage themselves into those same walls
