The price of a good life is cheaper elsewhere

Living in “first-world” countries which are optimized for growth have a competitive and ambitious economic environment. The dreams people may have about what it takes to have a good life can become ridiculously expensive.

Alternatively, living somewhere like Australia, you can be fit, live by the beach chill with your friends, and not even need to be that ambitious to live a good life. A minimum wage is keeping yourself fed but not a death sentence in these places.
