Because we Prefer associative links > indexed files we need to strengthen the bond between the links.
Instead of a list of references at the bottom of Atomic notes. I try to bake into the note why exactly it is linked to another one. This increases the resolution of the connection and keeps me from spamming links and diluting how important each connection is.
Higher fidelity association is answering the question: “Why is this information analogous to this other link?”
Ask questions like: • How does this relate to the other idea? • Why did I think of this? • Is there a better analogy I could make?
We might immediately think of what relates in our mind, but this practice makes our links much stronger.
